What has been your most embarrassing moment as a blogger?

I don't want any family or close friends to know I blog.I don't want them to read my blog even though I never write anything about them in it.I recently found out someone is reading my blog and I don't want this person to read it because I can't be myself around them or talk normally to them.Knowing they read everything on here makes me feel uncomfortable. It's not that I write anything terrible but I just don't want certain people to know too much about me,I like to keep my distance. I don't want to be questioned about my giveaway entering or the giveaways I have! It's no one's business and I just don't want to talk about my little happy blog.
Which makes me ask this question: Have you ever written something in your bloggy life that embarrassed you? What has been the most embarrassing thing you have been through online???
Tell me about it.This could be fun!!!

It can be such a struggle to find that perfect balance between enjoying the freedom to write what you want - and having people you know in real life read it!

It wasn't quite embarrassing, but it WAS upsetting when I wrote a post and the person it was about left a very ugly comment on it. I was trying to resolve something, and she made the entire situation worse. I finally had to pull the post because my blog friends were about to tear her to pieces for being so mean.

Hope you are able to find that balance - it's hard! :)

Often times I wish my blog was anonymous. But, after a few people amongst my friends and family found out about it, everyone knew. It does keep me from writing about things I want to write about. Maybe I should start a new one!

I'm sorry to say, but there's no way around it - if you write it on your blog, expect the world and God to know about it, so it's best to only write what you would be willing to share with everyone! (There's absolutely no privacy whatsoever on a blog, facebook, My Space, etc.)

Be sure and stop by to enter my Giveaway - there's even something for the kids!

With love,
Doris and Gizzy :-)

I definately watch what I write on my blog, because everyone I know knows that I write it. It's tough ... there are some things that I wish I could just say, but I know I can't!

Thanks everyone! It's nice to hear from everyone.I guess I might have to have another blog on the side and keep it anonymous!

I don't know if I've ever been embarrassed by what I've written but I have had conflict with some family members because of it. I didn't speak to my sister for months because she was so hateful to me about one of my posts. I figure it's my blog(s)(I keep several) and I can write what I want & if people don't like it, they don't have to read it! I have a Blogger's Disclaimer posted on my "home" blog. You can get one here if you think it's something for you. I also wrote a personal disclaimer for my blog. :)

I feel the same way too. Some of my family know that I blog, but only the ones that I'm closest too. The others, if they ask me where I got something...like something that I've reviewed or something I've won...I just play it off like I bought it. I just don't want everyone to know I blog, and it's kind of hard to explain the whole blogging thing, so I just leave it at that.

I feel the same way. I don't blog like I would like to. Sometimes I think of going private.

I regret having opened mine to family. But I figure since I have, and big name bloggers go there... I may as well embrace it. Sucks I can't fully vent though. Ugh.

What would you do with a $75 gift card? I have a giveaway on my blog right now for just that!

Come on over and enter! http://ht.ly/3mFsL

I've just started blogging so I'm starting to understand what ya'll are talking about. I feel open blogging gives me a vulnerability I don't always like. There have been days I wished I didn't start it. I love it...it's awesome...and I need to do it for my editors, but the whole "everyone knows my business" and "what will so and so say about that" is overwhelming.

interesting question from a personal perspective.

when i opened my blog originally i invited my family (and most of my friends)

i am what i am and my family is aware of it. i have loud opinions and my family are well aware of those.

but truth is my blog is about raising an autistic child and generally related issues. when you live that life you need your friends and family to truly understand what is going on in ways they dont always get to see.

i understand the urge to be gentle for family (and i do have to keep my name clean because of other stuff) but realistically unless you are planning on posting naked pictures or ripping individual family members for some misdeed or other then realistically they can be your greatest support if you let them

I try to be myself on my blog . I have mostly pictures& not many words . Sometimes that blank page is very intimidating . I always think , Once it is typed & published , it is there forever .
Blessings,
~Myrna

I get embarrassed when I make big obvious mistakes (like spelling) but then I just laugh it off :)
